This is the website for the group mentioned in Week Three, Environmental Working Group, that covers information about pesticides in fruits and vegetables. This is a really nice website, and it is full of interesting information–especially if this is as new to any of you as it is to me. Here is the list of the 12 fruits/veggies that are most contaminated, followed by a list of the 12 least contaminated:

Highest in Pesticides

These 12 popular fresh fruits and vegetables are consistently the most contaminated with pesticides — buy these organic.

• Apples
• Bell Peppers
• Celery
• Cherries
• Grapes (imported)
• Nectarines
• Peaches
• Pears
• Potatoes
• Red Raspberries
• Spinach
• Strawberries
——————————————————————————–
Lowest in Pesticides

These 12 popular fresh fruits and vegetables consistently have the lowest levels of pesticides.

• Asparagus
• Avocados
• Bananas
• Broccoli
• Cauliflower
• Corn (sweet)
• Kiwi
• Mangos
• Onions
• Papaya
• Pineapples
• Peas (sweet)

And here you will find a .pdf file of a wallet guide of this information that you can take with you to the store so you won’t forget! Good stuff to know!

I got my selenium this morning, and will start taking it tomorrow. This is such a nice and clear way to learn about this–so much better than trying to bite it all off at once, don’t you think?
