I am Maureen I joined the group through my work with the Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths (RID). I was drawn to RID by the death of my mother from hospital infections including MRSA. She entered a major NYC hospital with a fractured shoulder and died from the infections she contracted there.

I am very interested in this “Wellness” topic. I have lived the last 17 years as a “disabled” person due to health issues and challanges. I have read Dr. Weil’s “8 Weeks To Optimum Health in the Past.” I am looking forward to rereading it with my online friends and learning with all of you.

I find that it is so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and forget the simple
“rules” of taking care of ourselves. We all need a reminder and a refresher course. So here’s to all of us learning and improvng our and our families health.

Introduce Yourselves
Posted on 11.06.05 by Christina Jones @ 7:49 pm

Please introduce yourselves, either in the comments section of this post, or feel free to create your own post (a good idea for a practice run!). I will start:

I am Christina Jones, from College Station, TX, and am 37, with 3 children aged 20 (by marriage), 11 and 7. Although I (so far) have not had to deal with MRSA in my own body, I have been a caregiver to my husband who came very close to his death battling the bug. I have joined this group in the hopes that I will learn much more about being healthy, and enabling my body (and by association, my family’s bodies) to make use of its God given abilities to heal and protect itself.

I have always been one to minimize the importance of the “healthy stuff” with the attitude that “if everyone else is doing it, it must be fine” –take organic vegetables as an example of this (a small example, there are MANY!). I have never seen the need for this in the past, but I am starting to see it now. Might be an aging thing, along with the horrible MRSA scare.

That’s enough for now, I imagine you will be hearing more about me than you ever cared to know before this is over with, and I might as well leave a bit to be learned. Ha!

Welcome to Focus on Wellness, a part of the MRSA Resources community!

We are here to work together to learn how to improve our overall wellness, especially as it applies to recovery from MRSA and other bacterial infections, but the information here will be beneficial to everyone. We will be studying various books in the process of this group, the current book will be featured in the sidebar, and can be purchased through the links here, or at your local booksellers.
