Thanks for the compliments Megan. This particular blog isn't quite focused on Plantidote too much, but do check out eBeautyDaily, where I do talk a lot more about Plantidote, and it is on the schedule for this week again, because I have run out of it! Thanks so much for leaving the comment Megan, have a great day! And do try the Plantidote, I love it!

I read your comments on how Weils book is doing you- very cool I think I am going to pick it up. I linked to you through a search about plantidote. You rank really high on google if you search for plantidote, so you might want to talk more about it. Anyway just wanted to caution you that diets high in spinach can cause probs- I think maybe kidney stones. Just wanted to let you know- maybe thats why Weil doesnt include it with his greens...

[...] For more information about free radicals and antioxidants, Paula Begoin has an excellent article on free radicals here and Dr. Weil talks about them here and here, and I did a bit more research about antioxidants here. [...]

Hi everyone. I wish I had more time to participate in the book study. I've tried to keep up with the weekly subjects and do have a few tibits I've learned along the way in the past 2yrs. in our quest for health. You all are definitely on the right path and mostly what I would have to add would be in agreement with everything that is being learned in the book maybe for a few extra reasons. Hopefully, I'll be able to go back and address the subjects and give my input after the 1st week in Jan. and just reinforce what I have learned and why it is good to do what the book is saying.
Just wanted to let you know we had an appt. for my husband at Carolinas Integrative Health last Thur. (My husband had thyroid cancer at 34 back in Feb, thyroid removed, now on daily med.) and we have seriously been looking at alternative health solutions for about 2 yrs. now. I did mention healing John Michael's MRSA and brought all of our supplements for the doctor to look over.
We saw Dr. Russ Greenfield (1 hr. initial appt. $275.00) I hope ins. is going to pay for at least some of it, but if it doesn't it was worth every penny!
He was actually trained under Dr. Andrew Weil! He is a medical doctor (internist) that also practices alternative medicine! There was a nice picture in the front office of the two of them together.
It was again a situation that made me want to cry in the relief of hearing an M.D. affirm most of the supplements and things we've been doing and then also relax us a bit in other areas. We are so grateful to have access to him here in Charlotte. I will be happy to share all that we learned there although most of it was specific to my husband's situation. We walked out with a 3 page personal recommendation plan for him. I made an appt. for myself at the end of Jan. and I know we will end up taking our children there as well after what we've been through with the MRSA and our other doctors.
We did go over in length the supplements we were taking, and what brands he reccomends and why and I'll have to go over all that later. I do know what a maze of products it can be when we go into the healthfood store, and the mental torture of well? which one is best? and why? Dr. Greenfield did reccomend the probiotic brand "Culturelle" that is available on-line. I don't know if that was in the book or not? He is a "huge fan" of probiotics and put my husband on 2 a day, when on the box the dosage is one daily. Could be weight. My husband is 6'2 240lbs. Gotta go! Keep up the good work.

[...] Garlic is one of my favorite flavors. I have been doing a bit of research on it for my wellness group, and ran across this great sounding recipe for a garlic facial at MakeYourCosmetics.com: Ingredients: 1 small clove garlic 2 tablespoons boiling distilled water 3 mashed strawberries, tops removed 2 tablespoons ground oats 1 tablespoon polenta 1 teaspoon plain yogurt 2 drops tea tree essential oil Find the rest of the instructions here , but basically, you press the garlic, soak it in the boiling water for 30 minutes, strain it and add the liquid to the rest of the ingredients. Scrub your face, and then leave the mixture on for 10 minutes, then rinse off.
Thats the way it goes, Peg (darned antibiotics). We had the same problems when Marshall was taking his antibiotics. They reacted very badly with certain minerals in multivitamins. You might think about doing a little of your own research to get some more exact information about what reacts with the Daptomycin if you are interested. There are some very good web sites with very detailed information about these things. I dont know how well versed your doctor is in nutritional supplements, but an all over end to supplementation might not be necessary. Look especially into Vitamin C. I know that is given in conjunction with other antibiotics (but I don't know anything about Dapto), and Vitamin C has some really promising looking benefits in regards to MRSA. Just something to think about.

If your family likes salad, I've tried flaxseed oil with apple cider vinegar. My family liked it. I got the fresh, refridgerated type at the health food store. The oil doesn't add fiber to your diet, but it will add the omega-3's.
